Gran Canaria District by District: What to See in Maspalomas, Meloneras, Puerto Rico, Puerto de Mogán and Las Palmas — and Where We Deliver Flowers

Gran Canaria is called a "continent in miniature": in an hour's drive you pass from Saharan dunes in the south, through pine forests at 1,900 metres, to banana plantations and black-sand beaches in the north. The island is round, 50 km across, and almost all of its tourist life is gathered on the southern shore — from San Agustín to Puerto de Mogán, 25–40 minutes from Gando airport along the GC-1 motorway. This guide is built the way the island is: district by district, west to east and inland, with an honest answer to the question "where will you deliver the bouquet and how does it work right here?"

In short: across the south (Maspalomas, Meloneras, Playa del Inglés, San Agustín, Puerto Rico, Amadores, Puerto de Mogán, Arguineguín) a bouquet from the Gran Canaria catalog arrives within 2–3 hours of photo approval, delivery included. Las Palmas — 3–4 hours; mountain villages — at an agreed time with a small surcharge. Prices in euros from €98, order from any country on WhatsApp.
How the Island Works and How to Get Around
Gando airport (LPA) sits on the east coast, exactly halfway between the capital and the resorts. North to Las Palmas is 25 minutes, south to Maspalomas 30, to Puerto de Mogán 45. Global buses (lines 30 and 50 to Maspalomas and Puerto Rico, line 60 into the city) leave straight from the terminal, but most visitors rent a car: you cannot see the mountains without one, and the roads are excellent. The climate is "eternal spring": 20–23 °C in the south in winter and 26–29 °C in summer, rain is rare, but the trade wind almost always blows. That matters for flowers too: in the south it is the wind, not the heat, that dries petals, so we carry bouquets in an aqua-box and hand them over indoors — at reception, in the room, at a restaurant table — not on the beach.
Maspalomas: Dunes, the Lighthouse and the Flamingo Lagoon
The island's most recognisable place is 400 hectares of golden dunes squeezed between the Atlantic and El Oasis boulevard. It has been a nature reserve since 1987: you may walk on the sand (barefoot, early morning or at sunset — by day it burns), but not trample the plants or take sand away. Walk from the viewpoint by the Riu Palace Maspalomas through the dunes to the shore — 30–40 minutes — and come out at the Faro de Maspalomas lighthouse (1890, 55 metres, the tallest in the Canaries). At its foot is a promenade of restaurants and the La Charca lagoon, home to flamingos, herons and waders; the best light for photos is an hour before sunset. Beyond the lighthouse begins Maspalomas beach: wide, calm, with sunbeds and cafés that play live music in the evening.
For families there is Palmitos Park 10 km up the ravine: a cactus and orchid garden, a dolphinarium, parrot and bird-of-prey shows; Aqualand Maspalomas with its slides; and the camel farm by the dunes with half-hour rides. In March the Maspalomas carnival takes over — a parade along the boulevard, the Drag Queen gala and fireworks by the lighthouse; the promenades are closed, so on those days we deliver flowers in the daytime.
Where we deliver in Maspalomas. To the grand hotels by the dunes — Seaside Grand Hotel Residencia, Seaside Palm Beach, Riu Palace Maspalomas, Lopesan Baobab Resort — the concierge accepts the bouquet and places it in the room for arrival or on the table at the reservation time. The most common order is "flowers waiting in the room": we need the hotel, the name as on the booking and the check-in date. For a sunset proposal by the lighthouse the courier meets the couple in person at the agreed spot — order the day before so we can fix the place and the minute. In detail: flower delivery in Maspalomas.
Meloneras: the Promenade, Spa Resorts and the Best-Kept Sunset
West of the lighthouse the dunes end and Meloneras begins — the most expensive and quietest part of the south. Along the sea runs the two-kilometre Paseo de Meloneras: the ocean and rock pools on your right, and on your left the giant resorts Lopesan Costa Meloneras (one of Europe's largest hotels, with a "tropical" pool park and the Corallium spa) and Lopesan Villa del Conde, built as a replica of a Canarian village with a church for a lobby. Here too are the Hotel Faro and H10 Playa Meloneras, the Meloneras Golf course above the cliffs, the ExpoMeloneras congress centre and El Faro boulevard with its restaurants. People dine at La Toscana, Bahía Meloneras and Ovo — with a view of the lighthouse, which lights up exactly at dusk. Meloneras beach is small, with black-and-gold sand, but almost windless thanks to the breakwaters.
Flowers in Meloneras are mostly about milestones, anniversaries and proposals: garden roses and arrangements in boxes, 51 or 101 roses, petals on the bed for the return from dinner. Guest relations at Lopesan and Riu Palace Meloneras accept the bouquet under the guest's name; for a restaurant table we brief the manager 20–30 minutes ahead. Read: flower delivery in Meloneras.

Crown of Gran Canaria
Playa del Inglés: 2.7 km of Beach, the Yumbo and the Best View of the Dunes
The island's biggest and liveliest resort was born in the 1960s and still lives around the clock. The main thing here is the beach: 2.7 km of golden sand that merges into the Maspalomas dunes; along it runs the Paseo Costa Canaria promenade to the Anexo II area with its bars and surf schools. The landmark is the Yumbo Centrum: shops and a market by day, the main stage of Canarian gay life and simply good bars by night. For a cocktail with a panorama go up to the 360° rooftop restaurant at Bohemia Suites & Spa — the whole arc of dunes to the lighthouse is visible from there. On Wednesdays and Saturdays there is the market in neighbouring San Fernando: cheeses, mojo sauces, local wines.
How we deliver. Playa del Inglés is a district of mid-range hotels and apartment complexes: Bohemia Suites, Gold By Marina, Barceló Margaritas, Servatur Waikiki, Bull Eugenia Victoria. Same-day orders are most common here: a birthday, an anniversary, "just because". Order before 15:00 — handover today; for apartments give us the complex, block and number, and the courier calls the recipient from reception. More: flower delivery in Playa del Inglés.
San Agustín and Bahía Feliz: the Quiet East of the South
East of Playa del Inglés the resort ages gracefully: San Agustín is the calm Las Burras beach, 1970s hotels with big gardens and a clifftop promenade. In Bahía Feliz the wind is stronger — windsurfers come here. The main attraction is Sioux City Park in the Cañón del Águila: a Wild West town with cowboy shows on Friday evenings that children are brought to from all over the south. Delivery here is as in Maspalomas: 2–3 hours, no surcharge.
Puerto Rico and Amadores: an Amphitheatre of Apartments and White Sand
Twenty minutes west of Maspalomas on the GC-1 you reach Puerto Rico, where white apartments climb the ravine slopes in steps around an artificial golden beach. There are two marinas — Puerto Base and Puerto Escala — from which catamarans leave for dolphins and whales (sightings are almost guaranteed: bottlenose dolphins and pilot whales live offshore), along with fishing boats and parasailing. The hotels — Hotel Riu Vistamar, Servatur Puerto Azul, Marina Suites — are mostly for families and couples staying a week or two. From Puerto Rico beach a 1.5 km promenade runs along the cliffs to Amadores — a crescent cove of white Caribbean sand where two breakwaters keep out the waves. The water is clear and calm, the sunbeds come with service, and the sunset from the viewpoint above the cove is considered the best in the south. The Amadores hotels are the Gloria Palace Amadores Thalasso & Hotel and the Gloria Palace Royal Hotel & Spa on the cliff. Between Arguineguín and Puerto Rico lies Anfi del Mar with its white-sand beach and heart-shaped islet where people come for photo shoots.
Flowers here are about the holiday: a bouquet waiting in the apartment at check-in, a birthday surprise on a balcony overlooking the marina, a honeymoon at the Gloria Palace, a sunset proposal in Amadores. To apartment complexes we deliver via reception or in person; to hotels via the concierge; to catamarans at the berth under the skipper's name. District pages: Puerto Rico and Amadores.
Puerto de Mogán: "Little Venice", the Friday Market and the Marina
The prettiest village of the south stands at the end of the motorway: white houses with coloured window frames and bougainvillea, canals with little bridges, a 225-berth marina and a small beach in the bay. Come on a Friday — the island's biggest market unfolds along the waterfront; by lunchtime it is packed, so aim for 9 a.m. From the marina departs the yellow submarine (a real sub descending to 25 metres — children love it), boats to Puerto Rico and Arguineguín, and charter yachts. Dine at the fish restaurants on the front line or at Los Guayres in the Cordial Mogán Playa hotel, one of the best in the south. Beyond the village the GC-200 climbs to Mogán village in the mountains (10 km, avocados and mangoes on the terraces) and on north to the wild coast of Veneguera and Güigüí beach, reached by a 2.5-hour hike or by boat.
Yachts and flowers. Puerto de Mogán is our "yachting" district: a bouquet on board before a charter departs, table and cabin décor, a birthday or a proposal at sea. Give us the marina, the berth and the name of the vessel or skipper — the courier hands the flowers on board or to pontoon security; for a 10:00 departure order the day before, by 15:00. Yacht floral décor is a separate service on the Yachts page. To hotels — Radisson Blu Resort & Spa Mogán, Cordial Mogán Playa — as everywhere, via the concierge. In detail: flower delivery in Puerto de Mogán.
Las Palmas: Vegueta, Triana and Las Canteras Beach
The island's capital is a real city of 380,000 people, not a resort, and a day trip here is a must (50 minutes on the GC-1 from Maspalomas). Start in Vegueta — the quarter founded in 1478, with the Santa Ana cathedral, the Casa de Colón (Columbus stayed here in 1492), the Mercado de Vegueta and balconies of Canarian pine. Walk the pedestrian Triana street with its shops and modernist façades to the Pérez Galdós theatre and the Gabinete Literario. Then head north to Las Canteras: three kilometres of city beach sheltered by the La Barra reef, with a promenade where locals rather than tourists live; at the end stand the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium on the rocks and the Elder science museum. On Thursday evenings Vegueta holds its "tapas night".
Flowers in Las Palmas are ordered not by tourists but by families and businesses: for mum on 8 March, for colleagues, for a milestone dinner in Vegueta, for a new baby. Delivery is 3–4 hours with a small distance surcharge (quoted before payment). To the university, offices in Triana and apartments in Las Canteras — via reception or in person.
The Mountains and the North: Roque Nublo, Tejeda, Teror, Agaete
Half of Gran Canaria is mountains, and at least one day should be given to them. Roque Nublo is an 80-metre basalt monolith on a plateau at 1,813 m: from the Degollada de La Goleta car park a 1.5 km trail leads to it, and on a clear day Teide on Tenerife is visible from the top. Nearby is Pico de las Nieves (1,949 m, the island's highest point) with a viewpoint. Below lies Tejeda, one of "the most beautiful villages in Spain": in February its almond orchards bloom, and the pastry shops sell bienmesabe and marzipan. Teror is the island's spiritual centre, with the Basilica of Nuestra Señora del Pino, wooden balconies and a Sunday market; on 8 September a pilgrimage comes here from the whole island. Artenara is the highest village, with cave houses and a church carved into the rock. In the north-west lie Agaete and the port of Puerto de las Nieves: the Las Salinas natural pools, the 80-minute ferry to Tenerife and Finca La Laja, Europe's only coffee plantation. On the way — Arucas with its neo-Gothic black-stone church of San Juan Bautista and the Arehucas rum distillery (1884), Firgas with its cascade street and the Guayadeque ravine with restaurants inside caves. From the south, the scenic GC-60 leads into the mountains through the Fataga valley ("the valley of a thousand palms") — take it on the way back.
Do we deliver to the mountains? Yes, but not "within 2 hours": Tejeda, Teror and Agaete — at an agreed time, usually the next day, with a distance surcharge. For weddings at mountain fincas and in Agaete we work by pre-order — message us 2–3 days ahead.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which area of Gran Canaria should I choose for a holiday? Couples and lovers of quiet — Meloneras or Amadores; families — Puerto Rico, Maspalomas or San Agustín; young people and nightlife — Playa del Inglés; romantics and yachtsmen — Puerto de Mogán; those who want a city rather than a resort — Las Palmas.
How long is the drive from the airport to the southern resorts? Maspalomas and Playa del Inglés — 25–30 minutes on the GC-1, Puerto Rico — 35, Puerto de Mogán — 45. Global buses 30/50 leave straight from the terminal.
Can you deliver flowers to a hotel in Gran Canaria before we arrive? Yes, it is our most common order: give us the hotel, the name as on the booking and the check-in date — reception accepts the bouquet in the morning and places it in the room for arrival, and you receive a photo.
Do you deliver to all-inclusive hotels that do not admit outsiders? Yes. The courier does not enter the grounds — reception or guest relations accept the bouquet under the guest's name and take it to the room or to the restaurant table.
How long does delivery take to the south of the island and to Las Palmas? Maspalomas, Meloneras, Playa del Inglés, San Agustín, Puerto Rico, Amadores, Puerto de Mogán — 2–3 hours from photo approval; Las Palmas — 3–4 hours; mountain villages — at an agreed time.
What can I see in Gran Canaria in one day by car? Morning — the Maspalomas dunes and lighthouse; midday — the GC-60 through the Fataga valley to Roque Nublo and Tejeda; evening — Puerto de Mogán at sunset. Give the second day to Las Palmas: Vegueta, Triana, Las Canteras.
Won't the flowers wilt in the southern wind and sun? No: the bouquet travels in an aqua-box and is handed over indoors. For windy terraces we suggest low, dense arrangements; roses, orchids, strelitzias and anthuriums last 7–10 days.
Will you deliver flowers to a yacht in Puerto de Mogán? Yes — give us the marina, the berth and the name of the vessel or skipper. For a 10:00 departure order the day before, by 15:00; yacht décor is on the Yachts page.
Can I order from Russia or another country and pay in roubles? Yes. Order on WhatsApp, pay by any bank card (including Russian ones at the exchange rate), transfer, Apple/Google Pay or crypto; prices are in euros.
When is high season in Gran Canaria, and do I need to order in advance? The peaks are Christmas, New Year, 14 February and the Maspalomas carnival in March: the island is completely full, so order 2–7 days ahead. The rest of the year an order before 15:00 is enough for same-day delivery.
