Can You Order Flowers to Marrakech from Abroad — and How: A Riad in a Derb, a Map Pin, Moroccan Time, Payment in Euros

In short: yes. You message us from any country, a florist in Marrakech makes the bouquet, the courier hands it to the recipient or to riad and hotel staff, and you get a photo before the courier leaves and a confirmation afterwards. But Marrakech is not a "street, entrance, flat" city. There are three kinds of address: a riad in a derb of the Medina or Kasbah, where cars cannot go and doors carry no signs; a hotel in Hivernage or Agdal, where the concierge accepts the bouquet by guest name; a villa in the Palmeraie or a flat in Gueliz with a gardien at the gate. For a riad we need the exact name and the map pin from the booking confirmation; for a hotel, the name and the guest's name in Latin letters; for a villa, a map pin and the phone of whoever opens. Plus three Moroccan adjustments: time (GMT+1, GMT during Ramadan), Friday prayer and excursion days when the recipient is out of town until evening. Payment in euros by card, Apple/Google Pay, transfer or crypto — nothing is paid on hand-over, no dirhams needed. Bouquets from €70 in the Marrakech catalog.

Districts: Medina, Hivernage, Gueliz, Palmeraie, Agdal, Kasbah. Our other Moroccan city — Casablanca. Paying from another country — here.

Why Marrakech Is a Special Case for Delivery from Abroad

Most Marrakech orders come from people who have never been here: a husband in London ordering for his wife at a riad, a daughter in Moscow for her mother at an Agdal hotel, a partner in Dubai for a colleague in Gueliz. They don't know that in the Medina the navigator leads to a wall, that "Derb Sidi Bouloukat 12" may exist in two different derbs, that a riad locks its door at night, and that on Friday at noon the Medina empties for an hour. So our work in Marrakech starts not with the bouquet but with decoding the address — and below is everything we ask for.

Three Kinds of Address — and What Each Needs

1. A riad in the Medina or Kasbah. Derbs are pedestrian alleys behind the old-city gates: the car stays at Bab Doukkala, Bab Laksour, Bab Agnaou or the Jemaa el-Fnaa car park, and the courier walks 5–15 minutes. Riad doors have no plates and derb names repeat. We need: the exact riad name (Riad Kniza, El Fenn, La Sultana — not "the riad by the square"), the map pin the riad usually sends guests in the Booking or Airbnb confirmation, and the recipient's or the riad's phone. Staff accept the bouquet — they are there by day and evening — or the recipient takes it at an agreed point by a gate.

2. A hotel in Hivernage or Agdal. La Mamounia, Four Seasons, Sofitel, Es Saadi, Mövenpick, Nobu — and the resorts Kenzi Menara Palace, Eden Andalou, Les Jardins de l'Agdal. We need the hotel name and the guest's name in Latin letters as on the booking; the concierge or reception accepts the bouquet, and whether it goes to the room is the hotel's decision, which we check in advance. No room number needed. We have no partnerships with hotels or riads — every delivery is agreed individually.

3. A villa in the Palmeraie or a flat in Gueliz. Palmeraie villas have no numbers — landmarks are kilometre markers, and a gardien at the gate opens after a call from the recipient or owner: we need a map pin, the domain name and a phone. Gueliz addresses are clear — street, residence, floor; the gardien at the entrance can accept the bouquet by your arrangement.

Moroccan Time, Friday and Ramadan

Morocco runs on GMT+1 all year — one hour behind Moscow in winter and two in summer, three hours behind Dubai. During Ramadan the country switches to GMT — for a month the difference with your time changes, and a "by 19:00" window needs re-checking. On Fridays from 12:30 to 14:00 the Medina's shops close for prayer — the courier does not walk the derbs in that window; we move to the morning or after 15:00. During Ramadan riads and hotels operate, but dinner shifts to iftar after sunset, and an evening bouquet is best timed for it. On Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha some florists and couriers are off — order two days ahead.

Excursion Days: When the Recipient Is Out of Town

Marrakech is a base for day trips, and it is easy to miss not by address but by time. The Atlas and Imlil — out at 8:00, back around 18:00; the Ourika valley — half a day, until 16:00; dinner in the Agafay desert — pick-up at 16:00–17:00, return after 22:00; Essaouira for the day — 7:00 to 20:00. A hammam and spa in Hivernage — 2–3 hours without a phone. So for a surprise we ask not "when is convenient" but "what has she got on that day". Marrakech's most reliable window is 17:00–19:00: everyone is back at the riad, not yet out for dinner, and the rooftop has its sunset.

Paying from Abroad — in Euros, No Dirhams

Catalog prices are in euros and fixed at confirmation: any bank card, Apple/Google Pay, bank transfer or cryptocurrency. The recipient pays nothing — not the courier, not the riad; no dirhams or tips needed. Cards issued in Russia do not work abroad — for such orders there are transfer and crypto, see the payment article. Delivery across Marrakech is included; the Palmeraie beyond the resorts, Targa, Amelkis and Menara airport carry a surcharge quoted before payment.

The Card: Russian, English, French, Arabic

You write the text — we print and tuck it in. For a Moroccan recipient French or Arabic fits (Arabic is set right-to-left and checked with a native speaker); for riad guests, usually Russian or English. For a surprise we leave the sender's name off — riad staff say only "a delivery for you".

Seasons: Heat, High Season, Holidays

In summer Marrakech hits +38…+42°C: the bouquet travels in an air-conditioned car and is handed over in a cool riad patio or hotel lobby, never left waiting at a derb door. The florist suggests hardy flowers — dense roses, anthuriums, sunflowers, boxed arrangements; hydrangea and tulips for an air-conditioned room. High season is October–April: New Year, Easter, the International Film Festival in late November–early December, the marathon in January; riads are full, so order 1–2 days ahead. Large bouquets — '101 Pink Roses' €891, 'Royal Kasbah' €1,080 — take a day.

Example 1: From London — an Anniversary at a Medina Riad

He is in London; she and a friend are at a riad by Mouassine. He forwards the Booking confirmation — riad name and map link — and says Friday is their Atlas day. We set Saturday and message the riad on WhatsApp: staff will place the bouquet on the terrace for 18:00. The courier parks at Bab Laksour, walks eight minutes through the derb and hands 'Red Riad' €162 to the manager. A photo of the bouquet on the terrace facing the Koutoubia reaches London half an hour before sunset.

Example 2: From Moscow — for Mum at an Agdal Hotel

A daughter in Moscow; her parents are at Eden Andalou on a package tour. She sends the voucher — the name in Latin letters. We call reception: flowers accepted, taken to the room. At 10:30, while the parents are at breakfast, staff place 'Sunflowers and Hydrangea' €270 with a card in Russian; the photo from the room goes to Moscow. Paid by transfer, in euros; no extras.

What the Courier Never Does in Marrakech

  • Never carries the bouquet onto Jemaa el-Fnaa, into the souks, the Majorelle or Menara gardens, to the Saadian Tombs or the palaces — there is no address there; you receive the bouquet for photos beforehand at the riad or hotel.
  • Never leaves the bouquet at a derb door or with "the neighbour from the shop".
  • Never enters a riad without staff or climbs to the terrace alone.
  • Never walks the derbs during the Friday prayer hour — the window is moved.

If the recipient is away and the riad won't accept, we call you, propose an evening window and keep the bouquet cool at the florist's.

Checklist: What to Send Us from Abroad

  1. Address type: riad / hotel / villa / flat.
  2. The riad or hotel name verbatim from the booking; for a villa, the domain name.
  3. A map pin (the map link from the confirmation) — essential for riads and villas.
  4. The recipient's name in Latin letters as in the passport or voucher.
  5. The recipient's phone (+212 or your international one) or the riad's/owner's phone.
  6. The recipient's plans for the day — excursion, desert, hammam — and the preferred window in Moroccan time.
  7. Card text and language; whether to name the sender.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I order flowers to Marrakech if I have never been there? Yes — that is how most orders arrive. You only need the recipient's booking confirmation and their name; we decode the address.

What if the riad has no exact address — just a name? Ask the recipient for the map link from the riad's email, or send us the name — we contact the riad directly and confirm the gate and the derb.

Are dirhams or payment on delivery needed? No. The euro price is fixed at confirmation; the recipient pays nothing.

Same-day delivery? Usually yes — when confirmed in the morning, Moroccan time, and the flowers are available; for the Palmeraie allow travel time. No round-the-clock service; the window is given before payment.

How do I handle the time difference? Give the window in Marrakech time — we will remind you that Morocco runs on GMT+1, and on GMT during Ramadan.

Can the bouquet be placed on the riad rooftop for sunset? Yes — via the riad staff if they agree; we arrange it with the riad before payment.

Do you deliver to Essaouira, Ourika or Agafay? No — Marrakech and the Palmeraie as far as the resorts only; Targa, Amelkis and the airport on request.

Can Flowers Be Delivered to an All-Inclusive Hotel in Hurghada — and How: Reception, Guest Relations, Wristbands, Excursion Days

Yes — but Hurghada's hotels are closed territories with security and wristbands: the courier doesn't walk to rooms or the beach, the bouquet goes via reception or guest relations. What we need: the exact hotel name (Pickalbatros has six, Titanic three), the guest's Latin-letter name from the voucher, dates and the day's plans — Luxor from 4 am, the Giftun boat from 8:00. How YUCCA Flowers Differs from Flowwow and Other Flower Marketplaces: A Live Consultant from A to Z Instead of a Catalogue

Flowwow and similar services are marketplaces: you pick a listing from a shop's catalogue yourself and the platform is an intermediary. At YUCCA one live consultant runs the order from the first message to the hand-over photo: selects and composes for your budget, sorts out the hotel, door code or yacht, coordinates across time zones, sends a photo before dispatch. Yes — but Batumi has three kinds of address. Sheraton, Radisson, Hilton hotels — by guest name. Old-town flats — double street names, landmarks, entrance. Gonio and Kvariati, surprises, timing, USD, FAQ.
