How Flower Delivery Works in El Antiguo
El Antiguo — the "old village" in the west of San Sebastián — was a separate settlement of fishermen and farmers until the royal family arrived in the 19th century with the Miramar Palace. Today it is a residential district between Ondarreta beach and Mount Igueldo: Calle Matia with its bars and shops, Plaza del Funicular, the University of the Basque Country campus in Ibaeta and the Benta Berri business quarter. The courier comes along Avenida de Zumalakarregi — 10 minutes from the centre; delivery takes 2–3 hours from photo approval, orders before 15:00 are delivered the same day. In September, on La Concha regatta days and during Zinemaldia, the promenade is closed — we come via Plaza Pío Baroja.
Hotels at the Foot of Igueldo

Flats and Houses of the Old Village
El Antiguo is where families and students live: 1960s–80s buildings along Matia, Zumalakarregi and Eskalantegi, villas on the Igueldo slope, student flats by the campus. Give us the street (Matia kalea = calle Matia), number, floor and door ("1º dcha"), the surname on the intercom and a phone — the courier calls 15–20 minutes ahead. For villas on Igueldo — the house name or number on Paseo de Igueldo and a phone; we never leave the bouquet at the gate.
The University, the Funicular and Benta Berri
The Ibaeta campus of the University of the Basque Country (EHU/UPV) — faculties of chemistry, computer science, law, psychology, the School of Architecture: bouquets for graduation, a thesis defence or a lecturer's birthday are handed over at the faculty entrance at an agreed time. The 1912 Igueldo funicular climbs to the amusement park and the tower with a view of the whole bay — we meet an "Igueldo proposal" with a bouquet at the upper station by arrangement. In Benta Berri — offices, the Real Sociedad Fundazioa and the Benta Berri sports centre: office delivery in working hours under the company name.
The Bars of Calle Matia and the Restaurants
Calle Matia is the locals' pintxo mile without tourists: Bar Bidebide, Txurrut, Antiguo Berri, Taberna Zumeltzegi, the Gozotegi pastry shop. For a table with a reservation — the manager 20–30 minutes ahead; at a bar — in person at the counter. Up on Igueldo — Akelarre and Rekondo, with one of Europe's finest wine lists (on the road to Igueldo): for a milestone birthday we place the bouquet on the table before the guests arrive, as arranged with the restaurant.
