How to Order Flowers to Mauritius from Abroad: Delivery Areas Across the Whole Island and Payment Methods

In short: ordering a bouquet to Mauritius from the UK, Europe, the UAE, Russia or Kazakhstan takes ten minutes — no Mauritian rupees, no phone calls to a florist in French and no street number, which many island addresses simply do not have. You message us on WhatsApp or order on the flower delivery in Mauritius page, name the zone (Grand Baie, Port Louis, Ebène, Flic en Flac, Belle Mare, Le Morne, Bel Ombre, Blue Bay — we cover the entire island), the recipient's name and phone, pay by a card from any country in euros, Apple/Google Pay, bank transfer or crypto — and receive a photo of the finished bouquet before the courier leaves. The north, the capital and the plateau — the same day if confirmed by 13:00 local time; the west, east and south — by 11:00 or the next morning. Prices run from €128 for a bouquet to €672 for a wedding basket. Below — step by step, zone by zone and method by method.

Catalogue and prices in euros — on the flower delivery in Mauritius page. Nearby across the Indian Ocean: Zanzibar, Colombo, Mirissa, Dubai. Ordering abroad for the first time — how to order flowers from another country.

Why Ordering Flowers to Mauritius from Abroad Is Harder Than It Looks

Mauritius is the honeymoon island, so you would expect its flower service to run like Paris. On the ground it is different. Local florists work in French and Creole, their sites accept only Mauritian cards or cash in rupees on delivery, and 'island-wide delivery' in practice means 'within my village': a florist from Curepipe will not drive a bouquet to Grand Baie — that is an hour and a half each way. Addresses in the European sense are missing too: half the recipients live on the 'Royal Road' or 'Coastal Road' with no house number, the other half in resorts behind a barrier or in gated IRS and RES estates where an unknown courier is not let in without a call to the owner.

Add the time difference (UTC+4 — three hours ahead of London in summer, level with Dubai), cyclones from January to March and the fact that a hotel will never tell you by phone which room a guest is in — and it is clear why people search for how to order flowers to Mauritius instead of just googling 'florist Grand Baie'. Our answer is one page for the whole island, one chat and a florist with a car who knows where Anahita is and where Azuri is.

How to Order Flowers to Mauritius: Six Steps

Step 1. Choose a bouquet in the catalogue or describe what you want. The flower delivery in Mauritius page has three tiers: compact bouquets €128–136, medium €200–260, baskets and large arrangements €310–672. Every photo is a real piece of work, not a stock image. If you need 'something white and green for an anniversary under €250', say so in words — the florist makes it and sends a photo before you pay the balance.

Step 2. Name the zone and the type of address. We need to know where it goes: a resort (name and the guest's name in Latin letters as on the booking), a gated estate (name, villa or lot number), a house or apartment (a Google Maps or WhatsApp pin plus a landmark — gate colour, the nearest shop), an office (company, floor, reception) or SSR airport (flight number). The zone sets the delivery window and the transfer, which we quote at once and never change afterwards.

Step 3. Give the recipient's phone — or your own. Without a phone, delivery in Mauritius does not work: estate security calls the house, the resort concierge looks the guest up by name, the courier on the Royal Road looks for the gate. If it is a surprise, give your own number as the contact — the courier calls you, not the recipient, and nothing is spoiled.

Step 4. Pick the date and window. The north, Port Louis, Ebène and the plateau — the same day if confirmed by 13:00 local time; the west, east, south and south-east — by 11:00 or the next morning. For 14 February, Mother's Day (the last Sunday of May), Diwali and December weddings — 2–3 days ahead, the same as for a hundred roses.

Step 5. Pay the way that suits you. By a card from any country in euros via a secure link, Apple Pay or Google Pay, bank transfer (SWIFT, SEPA) or crypto (USDT, BTC, ETH). No rupees needed, the recipient pays nothing, the receipt lands in your inbox. More on the methods in a separate section below.

Step 6. Get a photo before and a confirmation after. The florist sends a photo of the finished bouquet before the courier leaves — you can ask to swap the ribbon or add a card. After hand-over you get a 'delivered' message with the time, and, if the recipient does not mind, a photo of the moment.

Where We Deliver: Every Area of Mauritius with Delivery Windows

The island is 65 by 45 kilometres, the M1/M2 motorway runs through the middle from north to south-east, and no two points are more than an hour and a half apart without traffic. But there is traffic: Port Louis is jammed on weekdays from 7 to 9 and from 16 to 18, and we plan for it. Here is how we divide the island into zones.

We have no separate district pages — one island, one florist, one price list. The transfer for the far zones is quoted in euros before payment.

Resorts, Gated Estates and the Royal Road: How the Courier Finds the Recipient

Resorts. In Mauritius a courier is not let past the barrier — not at Constance, not at One&Only, not at LUX*. Guest relations or the concierge accepts the bouquet and takes it to the room or villa; that is why we need the hotel name and the guest's name in Latin letters as on the booking. We do not promise 'into their hands on the sun lounger', but we send a photo of the bouquet before hand-over and the time it went to the room. On a honeymoon this works especially well: staff place the bouquet in the villa while the couple is out on an excursion.

Gated estates. Anahita, Azuri, Tamarina, Mont Choisy Le Parc, La Balise, dozens of guarded morcellements — this is where expats and villa owners live. Security at the gate calls the house, registers the courier and only then opens. We need the estate name, the villa or lot number and a phone — yours or the recipient's.

Royal Road and Coastal Road. Most Mauritian addresses read 'Royal Road, Grand Baie' or 'Coastal Road, Pereybere' — with no number. That is normal: we ask for a map pin and a landmark, and the courier calls 15–20 minutes before arrival. If the recipient rents through Airbnb, a link to the listing works — the house is visible on the map.

Offices. Ebène Cybercity, Caudan in Port Louis, the banks on Place d'Armes: the bouquet goes via reception by name, company and floor. Staff are often out at lunch — the best window is 10:00–12:00 or after 14:00.

Which Payment Methods We Accept

The sender is usually in another country, and payment is exactly what breaks an order with local services. We accept everything people actually pay with from abroad.

All catalogue prices are in euros and already include the florist's work, wrapping, a card and delivery within the base zone; the transfer for far zones is quoted separately before payment. What Is in the Mauritius Catalogue and What It Costs

  • €128–136 — compact bouquets. 'Grand Baie Morning' (€128) — pink garden and spray roses with a pink ribbon; 'Curepipe Anthuriums' (€128) — local pink anthuriums with gerberas, the most Mauritian bouquet in the catalogue; 'Pamplemousses Strelitzia' (€128) — orange strelitzia and red anthuriums in the spirit of the botanical garden. The 'just because', villa birthday and airport welcome level.
  • €200–260 — medium. 'Ebène Gardens' (€200) — garden roses with ranunculus for an office; 'A Hundred Mauritius Roses' (€212) — a hundred red roses for a proposal on the lagoon shore, made in 2–3 days; 'Bel Ombre Orchids' (€260) — white phalaenopsis with pale pink roses for a resort in the south.
  • €310–672 — baskets and large arrangements. 'Mauritius Pink Tide' (€310) — a giant dome of garden roses; 'Three Hundred Le Morne Roses' (€400) — the bouquet for a beach wedding; 'Crown of Mauritius' (€672) — the largest basket, for a suite on a wedding day or jubilee.

All prices are for the bouquet in the photo, with a card in English, French, Creole ('Mo kontan twa' — 'I love you', 'Bonn fet' — 'happy celebration') or Russian and a photo before the courier leaves.

Which Flowers Grow in Mauritius and What That Means for Your Bouquet

Unlike Zanzibar, where every rose flies in from the mainland, Mauritius grows its own flowers. The anthurium is the island's calling card: since the 1970s it has been grown in the greenhouses of Curepipe and the Central Plateau and shipped to Europe, so red, pink and white anthuriums here are always fresh and affordable. The same cool plateau grows roses, gerberas, chrysanthemums and orchids. Strelitzia, heliconia, frangipani and bougainvillea grow by every house — we add them as accents. Premium garden roses, lisianthus and ranunculus fly in from South Africa via Johannesburg and from Kenya, which is why we ask for 2–3 days for hundred-rose bouquets and large baskets.

The practical takeaway: if you want a 'local' bouquet, go for anthuriums and strelitzia — they survive both the heat and the drive across the island. If you want classics — garden roses and orchids, which travel in a thermal box in an air-conditioned car.

When to Order: Seasons, Cyclones and Dates

  • Cyclones, January–March. Southern Hemisphere summer. Under a Class III warning the island stops for a day or two: roads and shops close. We move delivery by agreement; your money is not lost.
  • Winter, June–September. Dry, +20…+25 °C on the coast, cooler and rainier on the plateau. The best time for flowers and the most predictable timing.
  • 14 February. The island is full of couples and red roses run out by 12 February — order 3 days ahead.
  • Mother's Day — the last Sunday of May. As in France; the biggest flower day of the year for Mauritians, florists work on pre-order.
  • 12 March — Independence Day. Flags, concerts, a public holiday; delivery runs.
  • Diwali, October–November. Houses are decorated with marigold garlands and yellow-orange flowers get dearer at the market.
  • December–January. The peak of beach weddings and New Year: baskets and wedding arrangements — a week ahead.
